Great card in 3D printing: as if standing next to the Milkmaid. The card comes to "life" through its depth!
This painting by Johannes Vermeer is world famous and hangs in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
Note: this is not a lenticular map, where the image changes depending on the viewing angle.
The name 'Milkmaid' is actually incorrect. A milkmaid was a woman who delivered milk to her home. The woman pictured here is a maidservant in view of her simple clothes and ironed head cap. It is in the middle of the image, in a room with a window on the left, through which the light enters. In front of her, on the left and below the window, is a table, covered with a cloth, on which there is a basket of bread, a jug, and other wares. The maid pours milk from a jug in a bowl that is also on the table; her attention is focused on donating. The space is scarce, a stew is depicted on the right. The wall behind her suggests a room with a past; there are some holes in it and a nail sticks out. With this Vermeer achieved that the room was given a simple appearance.
